KOCHI: Tamil Nadu spinners Thirush Kamini and D. Kamakshi, with four wickets each, took the individual honours, but Andhra Pradesh walked away with the match on a rain-hit opening day of the SBT 33rd South Zone senior women's inter-State cricket championship at the Tripunithura Palace Oval on Friday. Andhra Pradesh defeated defending champion Tamil Nadu by eight runs, while host Kerala shared points with Karnataka after an incomplete match.
Earlier, Indian fast bowler S. Sreesanth inaugurated the four-day event. The scores: Andhra Pradesh 153 for nine in 50 overs (Diana David 39, Rajini 32, Kamakshi four for 34, Thirush Kamini four for 24) bt Tamil Nadu (target revised to 78 off 25 overs) 70 for five in 25 overs.
