NEW DELHI: Grandmasters P. Hari Krishna and Parimarjan Negi defeated Russia's Alexendra Kostniuk by turns ahead of their third round clash in the seventh Cap d'Agde Masters rapid chess tournament at the French coastal town of Cap d'Agde on Friday. In the second round, Hari drew with top seed Teimour Radjabov to reach 1.5 points. Earlier in the day, Negi had blown away a two-pawn advantage to draw with Frenchman Laurent Fressinet. K. Humpy, the third Indian in the 16-player field, defeated Maxime Vachier-Lagrave and plays Almira Skripchekno in the second round in Group `B'. The results (first round): Group `A': Marie Sebag (Fra) lost to Teimour Radjabov (Aze); Sergey Karjakin (Nor) drew with Antoaneta Stefanova (Bul); Laurent Fressinet (Fra) drew with Parimarjan Negi (Ind); Alexandra Kostniuk (Rus) lost to P. Hari Krishna (Ind). Group `B': Zhao Xue (Chn) bt Almira Skripchenko (Fra); K. Humpy (Ind) bt Maxime Vachier-Lagrave (Fra); Anatoli Karpov (Rus) drew with Magnus Carlsen (Nor); Etienne Bacrot (Fra) lost to Andreď Volokitin (Ukr).
