Woman, daughter killed in road accident

The woman's husband suffered minor injuries

Bangalore: Roopa (26) and her daughter Spandana (3) were killed in an accident neat Katanallur Gate, Hoskote, on Friday.

Roopa's husband Venkateshappa (36) escaped with minor injuries.

The three, residents of Banaswadi, were travelling to Hemmaranahalli, Kolar district, on a motorcycle when a lorry knocked down the vehicle. Roopa and Spandana were killed on the spot, the police said. The lorry driver reportedly abandoned his vehicle and escaped. The Hoskote police have seized the vehicle and registered a case.

Suicide

Lakshmi (26) and her son Arun (7) were found hanging from a tree near Kottenapalya railway track at Bayapanahalli on Thursday night.

The police said Lakshmi, a divorcee, used to live with her grandmother in Bangalore city.

She is said to have resorted to the extreme step following a minor disagreement with her grandmother.

The Bayappanahalli police have registered a case.
