NEW DELHI: The Criminal Breach of Trust Section of the Economic Offences Wing of Delhi police has nabbed an alleged cheat for duping a large number of people in the name of providing admission to schools as well as extorting money in the garb of business proposals on behalf of Microsoft and other big companies. Stating that the accused usually targeted parents and businessmen, the police said Anil Pathak had confessed that he had in the past posed himself as Liaison Head (Government Corporate) Microsoft; Technical Adviser, Rajya Sabha; Assistant Private Secretary to Deputy Chairman Rajya Sabha and Member of Working Committee of a political party to cheat his victims. He used to send recommendation letters on fake letterheads of senior officers and political leaders to various government offices and school for favour. He further disclosed that he had cheated many persons on the pretext of arranging admission in reputed schools, educational institutes and prepared fake documents for this purpose. The accused has been sent to judicial custody and efforts are afoot to trace his other associates.
