KANNUR: It is a magic show with a mission as it renders a magical expression to Agnichirakukal, autobiography of President A.P.J. Abdul Kalam, before an audience that largely consists of school students. `Vismayachirakukal', magic show presented by magician Gopinath Muthukad and his troupe, was performed here on Saturday under the aegis of the District Tourism Promotion Council and the Information and Public Relations Department. The show that combined magic, dance, music and visual arts captivated the students for nearly 45 minutes. Mr. Muthukad presented the life of Mr. Kalam who had grown up in a rural background at Rameshwaram.
Messages
The religious harmony in Rameshwaram where Mr. Kalam was brought up, his dreams kindled by his pursuit of science, his active involvement in the country's space technology development and his call for clean environment, among other things, are the messages rendered through magical feats by Mr. Muthukad. "It is a tough job rendering a straightforward book in magic which is a least straightforward art form," Mr. Muthukad told the audience before the show began. The magic show, sponsored by the Life Insurance Corporation, was inaugurated in Thiruvananthapuram on October 10. It would conclude in Kasaragod on October 29. The show concluded with the singing of a few lines from Tagore's Geetanjali.
