KCR takes on TDP, Congress leaders

Special Correspondent

Attributes criticism against him to the parties' fear of `losing in Karimnagar'

HYDERABAD: Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) president K. Chandrasekhar Rao, criticised the Congress and the Telugu Desam for pointing an accusing finger at him with different reasons.

At a news conference here on Saturday, he took on the Congress for calling him names and said the remarks of Chief Minister, Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy, APCC president, K. Keshava Rao, and Sports Minister, M. Satyanarayana Rao, in this regard were out of frustration over signs of their party "losing in the Karimnagar Lok Sabha by-election."

Replying to the TDP's poser about the developmental programmes in Karimnagar during his tenure as Union Minister, Mr. Rao said he had got schemes worth Rs. 850 crore to the district. He had invoked special powers of the Union Cabinet to clear the Hyderabad - Karimnagar railway line against resistance from the Planning Commission and the Planning Board.
