`Congress must prove commitment'

Congress asked to introdu

KARIMNAGAR: BJP leader and former Union Minister Ch Vidyasagar Rao has demanded that the Congress introduce a bill for the formation of Telangana State in the Parliament session in November to prove its commitment on Telangana.

Referring to the contradictory statements being made by the Congress leaders on the statehood issue, he said, "If the statehood bill is introduced in the Parliament, we will feel that the Congress is for Telangana State," he noted.

Talking to newsmen here on Saturday, the BJP leader asked how AICC president Sonia Gandhi would evolve consensus on Telangana when the State Congress leaders themselves had different views on the issue.

The BJP leader said that only his party and TRS were committed for separate statehood. But, the TRS had "committed a mistake" by forging an alliance with the Congress and agreeing for the formation of second SRC, he maintained. BJP district president, P Sugunakar Rao, the Kisan morcha district president, B Jaganmohan Rao were present.
