Children's parliament programme today

KANNUR: The district level `Children's parliament' programme will be held here on October 29 under the auspices of the `Balasabha,' — the children's organisation under the Kudumbasree Mission.

Seventy school students selected from 2075 `Balasabhas' in the district would participate in the programme to be held at the District Panchayat Hall here at 10 a.m. on Sunday.

This was announced at a press conference here on Saturday by O. Roshni of the KPC High School, Pattannur, A. Nikhil of the A. Kunhikannan Smaraka Government High School, Malapattom, P.A. Jobin of the St. Thomas School, Kelakam, and K. Akhil of the AKG Memorial High School, Pinarayi, who would perform the roles of Prime Minister, President, Leader of Opposition and Speaker respectively at the programme. Asked what the Children's Parliament programme would highlight, they said it would raise the issues of children's rights and education.
