Girish's parents elated

Mysore: It was a great feat by nine-year old Girish Koushik, a 4th standard student of St. Thomas Central School, Vishweshwarnagar, Mysore.

The proud parents of this World under-10 boys' chess champion Arun Koushik and Lakshmi Arun, speaking to The Hindu, were very excited and joyous over their son's achievement. They said that all the hard work that Girish had put in had yielded the result.

Girish also became the first Karnataka player to win a title at the World Championships.
