KARIMNAGAR: The Peddapalli sub-division police arrested six members of a robber gang for stealing copper wire from transformers. The police recovered 200 kg of copper costing Rs. 1 lakh. Recently, 18 members of another gang were arrested in Jammikunta region for a similar offence. Disclosing this to mediapersons here on Saturday, Superintendent of Police D. S. Chauhan said that the gang had stolen copper wire from six transformers in Peddapalli and Godavarikhani sub-divisions. The gang used to hand over the wire to a Hyderabad businessman for the manufacture of water boilers. The arrested include, P. Sadanandam (23), P. Ravi (28), P. Sadaiah (28), P. Sampath (24), G. Kanakaiah (22) and Poldasari Sadaiah (22). Two others were absconding.
