Coimbatore: The Chairman of the Board of Intel Corporation and United Nation's Global Alliance for Information and Communication Technologies, Craig R. Barrett, will be on a visit to India from November 2 to 3. The primary charter of Mr. Barett's visit is to pursue the "World Ahead Programme" with communities, government and academia, a release from Ramamurthy Sivakumar, Country Manager, Intel South Asia said. The programme aims at enhancing lives by accelerating access to uncompromised technology with focus on accessibility, connectivity and education. Mr. Barrett will visit a tier-four town to see how technology was making a meaningful difference to people's lives. He would address a roundtable on Information and Communication Technologies development and a meeting with Government officials. He would also be addressing a digital leaders' forum hosted by the Confederation of Indian Industry. Besides this, he would also interact with journalists from across 16 select towns, using the latest videoconferencing facility. In Tamil Nadu, Mr. Barrett would interact with Coimbatore journalists, exchanging ideas on the emerging concept of model digital city.
