Film features 300 snakes

Staff Reporter

CHENNAI: Actor Samuel L. Jackson is now starring in the movie `Snakes on a plane'.

The film shows passengers travelling in an aircraft... accompanied by hundreds of snakes.

Director David R. Ellis has gone on record to say that not a soul in the film was hurt during the making of the movie, and this goes for the reptiles as well. The film features nearly 300 snakes of various sizes.

Snake wranglers Jules Sylvester and Brad McDonald say that when asked to work with the film they wanted to know the director's need.

The director narrated the plot and wanted nearly hundreds of snakes, including taipans and vipers, supplied to play their part on board the plane.

They did not like the idea of working with such a large number of snakes with so many people around. But, the director refused to reconsider his decision, they said.

They managed to introduce about 250 common garter snakes that are a variety of non-poisonous snakes.
