Camp for HIV tests
Special Correspondent
HYDERABAD:
The Andhra Pradesh State AIDS Control Society is organising a camp for conducting tests for HIV at its office located in the Directorate of Medical and Health Services, Koti, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on October 31, as part of the "be bold" campaign.
According to G. Ashok Kumar, Project Director, the campaign would encourage people to go for voluntary testing so that the `stigma and shame' attached to the HIV testing could be reduced.
As more people come forward for testing, evidence-based interventions for HIV/AIDS prevention, control and services would be taken up in a planned manner.
A press release said on Saturday that officers and staff of the APSACS and other partner organisations were requested to participate in the test so that a good message was sent across society.
