Refuse to relent till police outpost is set up on the hospital premises
|
HYDERABAD:
The flash strike launched by junior doctors at the Niloufer Hospital continued for the second day on Saturday with the agitators demanding that a police outpost be set up on the hospital premises immediately.
"Our demands also included strengthening the hospital security service and a compound wall around the hospital to prevent entry of miscreants. The strike might go on till work on these begins," Andhra Pradesh Junior Doctors Association Niloufer unit president G. Harikrishna said.
The association met Principal Secretary (Health) P.K. Agarwal here on Saturday evening. The assurances and discussions of the meeting will be reviewed once again on Sunday before further plan of action is chalked out, Dr. Harikrishna said.
The medicos went on strike in the early hours of Friday after relatives of a four-year-old boy who passed away in the hospital on Thursday night allegedly manhandled a colleague.
