Parents of two city girls lodge complaint pleading for arrest of three Qazis
|
HYDERABAD:
Family members of two women, who were allegedly being harassed by their Oman national husbands in Oman, appealed to the Government on Saturday to help them bring back the women to Hyderabad.
Sameena and Nazia, hailing from two poor families in old city, got married to twins Mohd. Bin Salem and Mohd. Mohiuddin of Oman three months ago here.
Broker involved
They were taken to Oman by a broker, also an Oman national, who performed the marriage with the photos of the bridegrooms here.
Within days of flying to Oman, Sameena and Nazia called up their family members here stating that their husbands were mentally retarded and subjecting them to cruelty.
Parents of the two women lodged a complaint with Santoshnagar police pleading for the arrest of three Qazis who performed the marriages.
Torture
"We appeal to the Government to rescue our daughters being tortured by their husbands in an alien land," parents of the two women said.
