No change in exam schedule

Kochi: The Sree Sanakaracharya University of Sanskrit, Kalady, has said that there will be no change in the examination schedule of the university owing to the proposed strike by private buses. The Professor in charge of examinations at the university said this in a press note here on Saturday. — Staff Reporter

Loco pilots' meeting

Kochi: A national-level meeting of the All-India Loco Running Staff Association ended here on Saturday with a resolution that loco pilots were not ready to run trains beyond eight hours at a stretch. A press release from the association demanded that a Parliamentary committee recommendation to restrict duty hours of loco pilots to eight hours be immediately implemented. — Staff Reporter

Mass fast held

Kochi: The Bus Terminal Action Committee organised a mass fast on Saturday in protest against the alleged refusal of the Agriculture Department to provide its land at Vyttila Junction for setting up a bus terminal. The fast was inaugurated by K. Babu, MLA, said a release. Deputy Mayor C.K. Manishankar spoke. — Staff Reporter
