Engineer's house burgled

BANGALORE: Burglars struck at a civil engineer's house in Kadugondanahalli police station limits on Friday night and looted gold ornaments worth Rs. 2.50 lakh and cash.

The police said the thieves entered Abdul Khadir's house in HBR Layout by breaking open the lock of the main door. Khadir and his family members had been to a relatives' house when the incident occurred.

The Kadugondanahalli police have registered a case.

Post office burgled

Thieves broke into a post office in Bharathinagar police station limits on Friday night and made away with cash and other articles.

The police said the thieves entered the post office on Wheeler's Road by cutting the window grills.

The Bharathinagar police have registered a case.

Chain snatched

Two men, who came on a motorcycle, snatched a gold chain worth Rs. 50,000 from a woman in Madivala police station limits on Friday.

The police said the two snatched the chain from Jayamma, a resident of 6th main, 3rd cross, Chikkaadugodi, while she had come to an autorickshaw stand near her house to see off her sister-in-law.

The Madivala police have registered a case.

Body found

The decomposed body of a man was found in the bushes near a tank in Singasandra in Madivala police station limits on Friday night.

The police said the unidentified man aged around 35 had been strangled.

The culprits had tied his hands and legs with a rope. The body has been kept in the Victoria Hospital mortuary.

Attacked

A man with criminal antecedents and one his friends was injured when an armed gang attacked them in Malleswaram police station on Friday.

The police said that around 9.30 p.m. about 10 persons attacked Ravi and Manjunath with choppers when they were sitting near the old vegetable market on 8th cross, Malleswaram.

A seriously injured Manjunath has been admitted in National Institute of Mental Health and Neuro Sciences (NIMHANS).

There are criminal cases against Ravi in Vyalikaval and Malleswaram police stations, they said.

Cash stolen

A car dealer from Davangere has lodged a complaint with the Upparpet police that Rs. 4.80 lakh had been stolen from his room in a lodge in Gandhinagar.

Gopalakrishna said in the complaint that he had checked into the hotel on October 25 along with Umesh and Patrick, whom he befriended during his bus journey to Bangalore from Davangere.

On Friday, one of Gopalakrishna's friends gave him Rs. 4.80 lakh.

He had kept cash in his hotel room.

Meanwhile, Patrick had gone missing, the police said.

The Upparpet police have registered a case.
