dated October 30, 1956: Appeal to Rajaji

Addressing a meeting under the auspices of the Praja Socialist Party in Madurai on October 28, Mr. H.V. Kamath, MP, appealed to Mr. C. Rajagopalachari to quit the Congress to form a strong Opposition in the country. He said Rajaji's mellowed experience and precious suggestions were necessary to form a strong Opposition. Endorsing the views of Acharya Vinoba Bhave, Mr. Jayaprakash Narayan and Mr. Rajagopalachari on the need for a strong Opposition, Mr. Kamath said that by his statement he was not asking Rajaji to join the PSP or the Communist Party, but only to come forward and help organise such an Opposition.
