NEW DELHI: P. Hari Krishna suffered a loss at the hands of Ukraine's Sergey Karjakin in the sixth round, but kept alive chances of qualifying to the quarterfinals of the Cap d'Agde Masters rapid chess tournament at Cap d'Agde in France on Sunday. Hari is currently in the fourth spot with 3.5 points and needs at least a draw against Frenchman Laurent Fressinet in the final round to make sure of a place among the four qualifiers from Group `A.' However, Parimarjan Negi's outside chance of advancing to the knock-out phase ended after he drew with France's Marie Sebag. In Group `B', Koneru Humpy was sharing the fourth spot with 2.5 points with two rounds to go. She pulled off a creditable draw against Norway's Magnus Carlsen in the fifth round. She faces second seed Etienne Bacrot and leader Andrei Volokitin in the remaining rounds. Group `A' (standings after six rounds): 1. Sergey Karjakin (Ukr, 4.5); 2-3.
