AL to set up plant in Uttaranchal
NEW DELHI:
Commercial vehicles major Ashok Leyland has decided to set up a plant in Uttaranchal and will invest around Rs. 1,100 crore in the new facility. According to sources, the Hinduja Group company would set up base at a 175-acre plant in the Pantnagar area of the hill state, which offers excise and income tax breaks to investors. The decks have been cleared and the company would be handed over the land shortly, the sources said. PTI
Q2 net profit up
Corporate Desk adds:
Meanwhile the company has reported a total income (net of excise) of Rs. 1,709.38 crore in the second quarter ended September 30, 2006, against Rs. 1,267.08 crore in the year-ago period. The net profit has risen to Rs. 95.36 crore from Rs. 75.02 crore.
