KOCHI: The Television Chamber of Kerala has decided to make identity cards mandatory for those working in the television sector in the State. Addressing a press conference here on Monday, chamber leaders said the decision was taken in the background of the suicide of a girl, who was allegedly the victim of a sex racket at Adimali. They said the key accused in the case, who reportedly met the girl in the guise of a television serial producer, had no connection with the television industry. They said many allegations related to exploitation of women were tarnishing the image of the television industry in the State. From December 1, 2006, the shooting of any telefilm, album or serial could not be held anywhere in the State without the approval of the chamber.
