Gurudasan to inaugurate celebrations in Kollam

KOLLAM: The fifty-day golden jubilee celebrations of Kerala formation, in Kollam, will commence with a colourful procession on November 1.

The procession will begin at 11 a.m. from the Saint Joseph Convent School grounds. Caparisoned elephants and cultural troupes will accompany the procession.

Students and elders in traditional attire bearing ornamental umbrellas will add colour to the procession. The procession will culminate at the Press Club Maidan where the celebrations will be formally inaugurated by Labour Minister P.K. Gurudasan at a function to be presided over by Mayor N. Padmalochanan.
