Tanker lorry workers on stir

Staff Reporter

KOCHI: Workers of tanker lorries and LPG trucks declared an indefinite strike from Monday midnight.

A statement issued by All Kerala LPG and Tank Trucks Workers Co-ordination Committee said that the strike was called in the wake of `harassment' at the hands of officials of the Motor Vehicles' Department.

M Ibrahim Kutty, convener of the committee, said the officials were taking punitive action against them on the charge that details of annual renewal of the fire-fitness certificate of drivers had not been included in the driving licence.
