Jamshedpur: Western Railway, Kerala, Delhi and Chhattisgarh moved into the semifinals in the women's section of the Federation Cup basketball championships here. Indian Overseas Bank (Tamil Nadu) and ONGC (Uttaranchal) consolidated their positions in the league in the men's section with wins. In a women's Pool `A' match, Kerala trounced Maharashtra 64-36 to finish second in the pool behind Western Railway. Railway women had defeated Kerala and Maharashtra on Monday. Sonia Josheph (22), Kerala's top-scorer and Reshma (16) tore the Maharashtra defence apart time and again. M. Chincholkar (15) was the top-scorer for the losing side.
Delhi posts win
In Pool `B', Chhattisgarh fought against Delhi, but lost 68-65. However, both the teams moved to the last-four stage with Delhi topping the table. In the men's category, ONGC defeated North Western Railway 100-70, while IOB beat Punjab 82-66 in Pool `A'. IOB put its act together to bounce back into the match after trailing 30-32 at half-time against Punjab. Internationals Robinson and Tridip Rai scored 22 and 14 respectively for the winner, while Dilawar Singh and Yadvinder Singh contributed 18 and 11 for Punjab. PTI
