Grievous mistake: Swamy
Special Correspondent
CHENNAI:
Janata Party president Subramanian Swamy said the Sri Lankan Government made a "grievous mistake by submitting to Norwegian pressure" to attend the Geneva peace talks with the LTTE.
He said the talks would have "no other outcome except legitimise a terrorist organisation." He said the LTTE was part of the problem. The "peace talks in Geneva is against Indian interest," he said, and added that the "Sri Lankan Parliament should adopt a resolution without delay to replace the present unitary Constitution with federal or quasi-federal Constitution that will meet the legitimate aspirations of the Tamil people."
