Cooperative polls before year-end

CHENNAI:
The State Government has decided to hold elections to cooperative societies before the end of this year.
At a meeting of the Secretary of the Cooperative Department, the Registrar and the Additional Registrar of Cooperative Societies, presided over by Ko.Si. Mani, Minister for Cooperation, here on Monday, it was decided that all announcements made in the department's budget would be implemented.
The meeting decided to issue new crop loans, revamp primary agricultural cooperative banks, improve the functioning of urban cooperative banks, computerise all branches of TNSC banks and Chennai Central Cooperative banks, and install ATMs.
