NIZAMABAD: The Gujarati Samajam has urged Mayor D. Sanjay to take a decision in the civic body meeting to name Varni Road as late Sardar Vallabh Bhai Patel road and Varni Chowrasta as Patel Chowrasta. At a meeting held in the 24th division in connection with the 136th birth anniversary of the first Deputy Prime Minister and freedom fighter Vallabh Bhai Patel on Tuesday, the Samajam recalled Patel's role in liberating India from the clutches of British Raj.
Cultural events
The Mayor, corporator Archana Jagdish Kulkarni, Gujarati Samaj elder Atul Bhai and several others garlanded the statue of Sardar Patel. Students from Saraswati Sishu Mandir performed dandya on the occasion.
