KOZHIKODE: Rani Public School, Vadakara, in association with Calicut University Department of Adult and Continuing Education and Extension Services (DACEES) conducted an interactive session with A. Jayathilak, Kozhikode District Collector, at the school on Tuesday. The session was based on a career guidance programme for students. Dr. Jayathilak spoke on the importance of undergoing Differential Aptitude Test to identify their aptitude, which in turn would help them choose the right career path. A student of the school, Anita M, had sent an e-mail to the District Collector, requesting him to help the students of the district with career guidance which inspired him to start the programme in the schools. The Collector stressed on the importance of time-management and stress-management. He advised the students to go for as many entrance tests as they could, like NDA, NID, etc. While addressing the teachers, Dr. Jayathilak said English and mathematics should be given more emphasis as they were the basics for learning all subjects. Fathimath Shazna K of standard XI welcomed the gathering. Principal Geeta Laxmi presided over the function. School chairman V.R. Krishnan gave the felicitations and Safa Abdussalam N.K. of standard XI proposed the vote of thanks.
