The festival intends to showcase the rich cultural heritage of the region and provide a forum for young and the upcoming artists. It will be held simultaneously at seven venues in the twin cities. Five venues will host exhibitions too, he said.

The special attraction of the "utsav" would be the presentation of "Ismaat Aapa Key Naam" on November 17 by Naseeruddin Shah and troupe.

Mr. Horatti appealed to writers and artists of the district to strive hard to make the festival a model for the State. The entry is free for the festival.

Deputy Commissioner M.S. Srikar said that prior to the inauguration of the utsav, a cultural procession would be taken out from R.N. Shetty Stadium to Dr. Mallikarjun Mansur Kalabhavan.

The events will be held at Kalabhavan, Karnataka Vidyavardhaka Sangha; Srujana Rangamandir; R.N. Shetty Stadium; Sawai Gandharva Hall; KIMS auditorium; and Indira Glass House.
