NASSCOM to hold tests in Rajasthan

Special Correspondent

Assessment and certification programme for ITES and BPO.

JAIPUR: Rajasthan will be the first State in the country to undergo NASSCOM Assessment of Competence (NAC), a national assessment and certification programme for ITES and BPO.

Designed by NASSCOM and Hewitt with the active support of ITES-BPO industry players, NAC is aimed at "creating a robust and continuous pipeline of talent" by transforming the "trainable" workforce into an "employable" workforce.

"The national roll-out of NAC is after a successful pilot project completed in August 2005, through which 6,000 candidates were selected. This nation-wide rollout will create a continuous stream of talent for the Indian ITES-BPO industry and maintain India's leadership position in this space," said NASSCOM president Kiran Karnik.

NAC tests for Rajasthan will be held in Jaipur and Ajmer on November 18. The other States to follow are Gujarat, Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu and Chandigarh.
