`Priest' gets 3 years' RI

New Delhi: A Delhi court on Tuesday sentenced a `priest' to three years' rigorous imprisonment for sodomising a 15 year-old-boy, who was his neighbour in Central Delhi a year ago.

After hearing the arguments of both the prosecution and the defence, Additional Sessions Judge (ASJ) Rajneesh Kumar Gupta, held Mool Chand, 65, guilty of sodomising the minor and also slapped a fine of Rs. 7000 on him.

According to the prosecution, on May 25, 2005, the victim, a resident of Khirki extension went to his maternal uncle, Yogesh Kumar's house in Katra Sujan. The bizzare incident took place after a day, when the convict Mool Chand took him to his house on some pretext and sodomised him.

The prosecution examined 20 witnesses to prove its case. -- PTI
