NEW DELHI: A 20-acre commercial plot in Bawana Industrial Complex here was auctioned by the Delhi State Infrastructure and Industrial Development Corporation (DSIIDC) on Tuesday for a whopping Rs.263.67 crores. The DSIIDC auctioned a total of 15 commercial plots in the country's largest industrial complex during the day. The auction was held in the auditorium of Poorva Sanskritik Kendra at Laxmi Nagar in East Delhi. Industry Minister Mangat Ram Singhal inaugurated the auction, while DSIIDC Managing Director Jalaj Shrivastava presided over the proceedings. Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Singhal described the Bawana Industrial Complex as the most sophisticated industrial complex in the country. Over 600 applications were received for the auction and over 400 bidders attended the proceedings. While the bids for the plots ranging between 1,000 square metres and 8,000 square metres averaged around Rs.60,000 per square metre and totalled Rs.133 crores, the icing on the cake was provide by the 20-acre plot which went under the hammer at Rs.263.67 crores.
