KARIMNAGAR: Government Whip D. Sridhar has asked TRS legislators to review the progress of ambitious irrigation projects in Karimnagar district before levelling allegations against the Government over the development of the region. Addressing a press conference here on Tuesday, he termed the allegations made against the Government by the TRS legislators about the development of Telangana region as `false and baseless.' He said that the work on the SRSP flood flow canal project and the Yellampalli project was progressing at a rapid pace. He said that the foundation for the construction of the Mid Manair Dam reservoir would be laid on November 12 to provide irrigation facilities to the upland Sircilla, Nerella and Indurthi Assembly segments. He flayed the TRS leaders for stating that they had sanctioned the Vemulawada-Korutla road at a cost of Rs 15 crores in the district. He charged TRS president K Chandrashekhar Rao with failure to establish ESI hospitals in Karimnagar district to provide medicare to beedi workers. He ridiculed the TRS leaders' claims that KCR had sanctioned a comprehensive drinking water scheme and a railway line for Karimnagar. He promised to take up a comprehensive drinking water scheme in Karimnagar at a cost of Rs 365 crores if Mr Jeevan Reddy was elected in the byelection to the Karimnagar Parliament constituency. He also launched a scathing attack against Mr Chandrasekhar Rao for neglecting the Telangana region.On the charges levelled by TDP leaders that the Congress leaders had acquired some 40 houses in Karimnagar for importing leaders for the byelection, he challenged the TDP leaders to prove the allegations. He also flayed the TRS leaders for politicising the execution of Mid Manair Dam reservoir project.
