VISAKHAPATNAM : The seventh Visakha Book Festival of Visalandhra Book House will begin at the Turner's Choultry on the main road on Wednesday. Informing this at a media conference here on Tuesday, manager of Visalandhra Book House, Yogi, said about 10,000 books would be on display during the 19-day festival which would be open for the public daily from 11.30 a.m. to 8.30 p.m. The books include novels, fiction, children's books, books on health, personality development, childcare, etc. "As women account for half the population of society, special books for their use on Yoga, health, beauty, cookery, issues faced by working women, embroidery and a variety of other subjects are available for them. Apart from these, there are hundreds of books on spirituality, religion, language, literature, general knowledge and other subjects to cater to people of all ages," he said. He said the exhibition was conducted year after year in the month of November despite incurring lot of expenditure, with the sole aim of inculcating the reading habit among the general public. No society could achieve development without education , he observed.
