Rajiv is new chief of Hotels & Restaurants

Rajiv Narain, vice-president, Hotel Golkonda, has been elected president, Hotels and Restaurants Association of Andhra Pradesh for 2006-07. Other office-bearers are: Kuldeep Bhartee, J.V.S. Rana, K.U. Shenoy, Sandeep Johri, Krishna Akundi, Rajesh Berry, Albert Rebello (vice-presidents), Pradeep Kumar Dutt (secretary-general) and Ravish Daway (joint secretary and treasurer).

Bonsai classes

Horticulture department is conducting training programme on Bonsai at Andhra Pradesh Horticulture Training Institute, Red Hills from November 6 to 8.

`Jnana yagnam' begins

The 198th `Jnana Yagnam' of Swami Sundara Chaitanyananda, with discourse on `Bhagavad Gita' by him, began at Exhibition Grounds here on Monday.

Addressing the devotees, he stressed the importance of developing committed relationships without which it would be impossible for people to live.

Education Day celebrations

All India Urdu Educational Committee (AIUEC) will organise National Education Day celebrations from November 11 to 19 all over the country to commemorate birthday of Moulana Abul Kalam Azad, a press release from All India Urdu Educational Committee said on Monday. Chairman of AIEUC Jaleel Pasha said that the State Government has agreed to declare November 11 as `Education Day'.
