Bangalore: Bharat Sanchar Nigam Ltd. (BSNL) has reduced the monthly charges for One India Plan to Rs. 180 for its basic and WLL services. The number of free calls under this plan has been increased to 50 a month, according to a press release here on Tuesday. All the BSNL landline customers in Bangalore, under General plan, who have been paying Rs. 180 as the monthly rental charge, will automatically be included in One India plan with effect from Wednesday. Unit call charges under One India plan is Re. 1 and the pulse rate for local and intra-circle calls to fixed/WLL within the BSNL network and wire line network of other service providers up to 50 km will be 180 seconds. The pulse rate for all other calls, including STD calls, will be 60 seconds. BSNL has also reduced the cost of call for public call offices (PCOs) from Wednesday by increasing the pulse rate from 45 seconds to 60 seconds. Calls to stations beyond 50 km using "95 level" dialling will be allowed from PCOs with the same pulse rate of 60 seconds. However, service tax is applicable for the franchisee PCOs.
