CHENNAI: The Japan Chamber of Commerce and Industry on Tuesday launched a seminar series on Japanese management techniques. Inaugurating the seminar, the Consul General of Japan Yoshiaki Kodaki said the series came at a time when more and more Japanese manufacturers were planning to establish business operations in Chennai and other parts of South India. Some Japanese management techniques had been introduced in India and some Indian companies that adopted them were reaping profits. Mr. Kodaki said he hoped the seminar series would "turn many business people's minds and eyes to the Japanese management techniques." The seminars would be conducted on the last Saturday of every month. Chamber secretary general N. Krishnaswami and President of the Indo-Japan Chamber of Commerce and Industry R. Veeramani spoke. The series was launched with a lecture on `Japanese management practices an overview' by V. Rajagopalan.
