Cost reduction studies on energy equipment was stressed at a state-level seminar on `Renewable Energy Conservation for Rural Development' held at Gandhigram Rural University at Gandhigram on Wednesday. Energy areas have to be trapped in the daily chores of living. Solar cookers, heaters and stoves have to be used extensively as a measure of adoption and conservation of renewable energy, said R. Vasudevan, Professor in Bharathidasan University, Tiruchi. He called upon researchers to engage in cost reduction studies on Indian solar heaters, solar cookware, design improvement and biomass studies.
