NAGOYA: Serbia and Montenegro shocked three-time World champion Cuba 25-22, 22-25, 25-20, 25-23 in Pool D at the women's world volleyball championships here on Wednesday a day after stunning defending champion Italy. Italy rebounded from an opening day loss to defeat Peru 25-15, 25-16, 25-14.In other matches, championship contender Brazil improved to 2-0 with a convincing 25-17, 25-13, 25-16 win over winless Kazakhstan in Pool C play at Kobe and Puerto Rico defeated Cameroon 25-17, 25-23, 25-20. In Sapporo, Russia beat Azerbaijan 25-19, 25-21, 19-25, 25-20 in Pool B and Germany scored a 25-18, 25-21, 25-19 win over Mexico. In Pool A, Taiwan, which upset host Japan on Tuesday, continued to impress with a 25-13, 25-9, 29-27 win over Kenya.
