Dubey admits of supplying secret documents to the Pakistani

  • Dubey had sold documents for Rs. 60,000
  • Inputs of crucial tactical value may have been sold

NEW DELHI: Six Army personnel are currently being interrogated by the Special Cell of the Delhi police on suspicion of their link with an espionage ring involving a Army Group Insurance (AGI) Fund employee, Anil Kumar Dubey.

Dubey was arrested here on October 20 on charges of passing on secret national security-related documents to a Pakistani national working at the Pakistan High Commission.

Dubey was arrested while allegedly handing over some secret documents to the Pakistani. During interrogation, Dubey allegedly disclosed that he had supplied secret documents to the driver on at least three occasions. In lieu of the documents, he claimed to have received Rs. 60,000 in cash.

Investigations revealed that Dubey had earlier served with the Management Information Services at the Headquarters 15 Corps in Srinagar. The unit is considered a nerve centre as it keeps an account of almost all equipment and different kinds of aid provided to the Army.

Anil purportedly disclosed that he recently came to know a person called Rajesh Yadav. "Rajesh" befriended him and after winning his confidence, revealed his real identity and offered Dubey money for Army-related secret information. Dubey allegedly revealed that on one occasion he passed on some confidential telephone numbers installed at Army Headquarters.

Experts feel that such factual inputs are of crucial tactical value as they give a fair idea about important facets of the Army.
