CHENNAI
: Two motor vehicle inspectors on Wednesday inspected the Hyundai Santro car in which three men were found dead on Sunday morning.
The inspectors from the Regional Transport Office (KK Nagar) carried out the inspection at Teynampet police station, and will submit a report to the RTO and police soon. Three men, including software professional L. Balakrishnan (36), were found dead inside the car on G.N. Chetty Road, T. Nagar. Police said they could have suffocated to death. The bodies were sent for post-mortem. After the heavy rains on Saturday, low-lying areas were flooded sparking traffic jams on several roads. Many vehicles remained stranded on Saturday night.
The vehicle driven by Balakrishnan reportedly got stuck in the jam along G.N. Chetty Road. When he failed to return home, a relative filed a complaint with the Teynampet police. A search found that the three had died inside the car. The deputy commissioner of police (Mylapore) A G Mourya said the tissues of the deceased had been sent for forensic tests and reports awaited.
