Work on sewerage master plan sought
Special Correspondent
HYDERABAD:
Chief Minister Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy on Wednesday directed Hyderabad Metro Water Supply and Sewerage Board (HMWSSB) officials to start works on the ambitious sewerage master plan for the twin cities estimated to cost Rs. 2,000 crores, tying up with various banks and complete it in three years.
The master plan also includes the Rs. 800-crore underground sewerage network for the old city announced by the Chief Minister during his surprise visit to the area on October 12.
He asked the HMWSSB managing director K.S. Jawahar Reddy to go for bridge loans for the project and the Government would supplement it with financial aid.
