Loving one's language

Yet another Kerala Day is here. Malayalis seem to have lost their respect for the language, feels M.T. Vasudevan Nair. The writer's friend, into building construction, showed him a brochure in English. "I asked him, why should you go for an English brochure as your project is meant for the middle-class society. If you wish, I can translate this for you." Even the offer from one of the most popular writers in was not tempting enough. For, he was afraid that a brochure in Malayalam would make people feel that the project was of inferior quality. So much for the Malayali's love for language.
