CHENNAI: The Karnataka police have taken for questioning a person from a Chennai driving school following information that one of the two Pakistani terrorists recently arrested in Mysore had obtained a driving licence from there. A police team from Karnataka visited the licence issuing office a few days ago and held enquiries. Two Pakistani nationals, Mohammed Fayad and Mohammed Ali Hussain, were nabbed in Mysore on October 27, bringing to light a plot by the Al-Badr terrorist group to attack important buildings in Karnataka. Interrogation of the two accused revealed that Fayad had obtained a driving licence from the Transport Unit Office at Tondiarpet in North Chennai. Enquiries revealed that Fayad, who had given the address as Bharati Colony, obtained a learner's licence in March this year and a permanent licence the next month. A senior police officer told The Hindu that Satish Kumar of the driving school was taken to Karnataka to identify the accused. According to police sources, enquiries revealed that Fayad had come to Chennai a few times this year and stayed at the New Washermanpet residence of his relative, hailing from Kozhikode in Kerala. During his stay there, which lasted two or three days each time, he obtained the licence.
