Rajahmundry: District Education Officer D. Parvati has announced that she is contemplating introducing student adoption system in all villages and urban slums. Ms. Parvati, who took over as DEO two days ago, came to Rajahmundry on Thursday. Addressing a press conference, she said under the adoption system the department would engage retired teachers, unemployed youth having interest in teaching and others to guide the children from 7th to 10th classes after their schooling in the subjects in which they are lagging behind. "This will give confidence and also help in their carrier guidance," she said.
Refreshment classes
The DEO said that she would motivate teachers at cluster-level by holding refreshment classes in modern teaching techniques. Answering a question, the DEO said that top priority would be given to quality education.
