Kakinada: Chief Minister Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy will lay the foundation stone for the flyover across the railway level crossing at Perrajupet near RTC bus station complex here on November 10, according to Mutha Gopalakrishna, MLA. At a press conference here on Thursday, he said the flyover, costing Rs.18 crores, would be completed in 18 months. Keeping in view the growing traffic needs of the city, the Chief Minister had agreed to his request for two more flyovers at Achyuthapuram and Sambamurthy Nagar railway level crossings, the MLA said. Construction of both flyovers would be taken up during next year and the Chief Minister had agreed to provide the necessary funds in the next year's budget.
Housing complex
The MLA said that plans were under way for construction of 6,000 weaker sections houses in the city at a cost of Rs.1 lakh each under the Central government-sponsored scheme. Already 23 acres of land in Yetimoga area had been acquired for the purpose. He said the Chief Minister would also lay the foundation stone for this mega housing complex.
Other programmes
Dr. Reddy's tour programme includes the laying of the foundation stone for the coast guard base station on the beach road and distribution of prizes and certificates to farmers at a function to be held at the Nagarjuna Fertilizers and Chemicals Company. He said the Chief Minister would visit the city again on December 8. He would review various developmental programmes, including the implementation of the Indiramma scheme. The MLA said the proposal for the ONGC refinery project here had almost been shelved.
