Siju Pal wins

CHENNAI: Siju Pal of Western Railway emerged triumphant in the 94 kg category with a total lift of 316 kg on the second and penultimate day of the All-India Railway weightlifting championship at the Ambedkar Arangam, ICF, here on Thursday.

The results: 77kg: 1. V. Prabhu (E. Rly) 140 kg (snatch)+ 160 (clean& jerk) = 300 kg (total); 2. K. Jagadeesan (S. Rly) 131+166=297; 3. N. Bhaskaran (W. Rly) 126+168=294; 85kg: 1. Parveen (N. Rly) 136+171=307; 2. A. Marudhupandian (W. Rly) 130+167=297; 3. S. Anish Kumar (S. Rly) 135+161=296; 94kg: 1. Siju Pal (W. Rly) 135+181=316; 2. Prem Kumar (S. Rly) 136+174=310; 3. S. Nagesh Rao (E. Rly) 132+173=305.
