SVU Rector resignation sought

TIRUPATI: Member of the Executive Council (EC) of SV University T.V. Muralinatha Reddy has protested against university Rector K. Sivasankar Reddy for reportedly taking a delegation recently to the Chief Minister and complaining against another council member Y. Venkatrama Reddy.

In a letter addressed to Vice-Chancellor S. Jayarama Reddy, Prof. Muralinatha Reddy said that the action of the Rector, an appointee of the EC, was a violation of university laws. It amounted to disobedience and contempt of the EC, he said in the letter, also signed by Prof. Venkatrami Reddy. The two members wanted the Rector to resign from the post failing which the Vice-Chancellor himself should secure his resignation. They urged Prof. Jayarama Reddy to immediately convene a meeting on the issue.
