THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The KSRTC is making elaborate arrangements for transporting the pilgrims to Sabarimala and back during the coming Mandala pooja season. An official press note said here on Thursday said services would be operated from all major bus stations in the State to Pampa and Erumeli. A temporary bus station would function at Nilackal in addition to the bus station at Pampa. Chain services would be operated between these bus stations. Mobile workshop facilities would be available at Chalakkayam, Pampa, Nilakkal, Plapally and Perunad. Bus services would be operated from Chengannur, Kottayam and Ernakulam railway stations for the benefit of the pilgrims arriving by train. Ten days advance reservation facility would be available in all major bus stations for Pampa and back. Group reservation would also be allowed. If groups of over 40 pilgrims book seats, the KSRTC would make arrangements to collect them from anywhere within 10 km of the bus station. Only ordinary fares would be collected for Sabarimala specials. The Deputy Chief Traffic Officer would function as the coordinator of the special services.
