Ex-gratia benefit extended

CHANDIGARH: The Haryana Government has decided to amend the Haryana Compassionate Assistance to the Dependents of Deceased Government Employees Rules, 2006, to cover its group `A' and `B' categories of employees the under ex-gratia scheme, Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda announced here on Thursday.

He said these rules were aimed at assisting the family of a deceased or missing Government employee in tiding over an emergency situation resulting from the loss of the bread-earner while in regular service by giving financial assistance.

He said that earlier only the group `C' and `D' employees of the State Government were covered under these rules.
